The Department of Pharmacology, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSS Academy of Higher Education Education and Research (JSSAHER), Mysuru, will host the International Conference on Sustainable Brain Health: Advances in Neurochemistry and Neuropharmacology (JSS-SNCI-CON2025) along with the 39th Annual Meeting of the Society for Neurochemistry, India, from November 17 to 19 at JSS College of Pharmacy here.
Dr T. M. Pramod, Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, told reporters here on Saturday, November 15, that the conference will serve as a transformative platform for young researchers, clinicians, and the pharmaceutical industry. “This event will bring together eminent neuroscientists and clinicians from around the world to discuss advances in brain and mental health research. Interdisciplinary collaboration between JSS Hospital’s Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry will highlight the integration of clinical and experimental neuroscience,” he said.
Experts from global institutions, including the University of Nebraska Medical Centre, Seton Hall University, the University of Toledo, the University of Saskatchewan, and the University of Connecticut, will participate, alongside virtual contributions from the National Institutes of Health (USA), Cambridge University (UK), La Trobe University (Australia), and other institutions, including Indian institutions such as IISc Bengaluru, IITs Chennai and Kharagpur, and NIMHANS, a press release said.
Dr. Saravana Babu Chidambaram, Organising Secretary, said that mental health research is paramount in today’s digital era and that the conference will lay emphasis on brain health discovery for societal well-being.
A key highlight will be the launch of the Centre of Excellence in Brain, Behaviour, and Cognitive Neurosciences Research, under the auspices of the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR), USA. The Centre aims to be a hub for translational neuroscience and mental-health innovation. Supported by Anusandhan National Research Foundation, Department of Biotechnology-Conference, Travel, Exhibition, and Popular Lectures Programme, and Indian Council of Medical Research-Department of Health Research, JSS-SNCI-CON2025 aligns with the Karnataka Brain Health Initiative (KaBHI) and is poised to position Mysuru as a global hub for sustainable brain health innovation, the release added.
Mahalakshmi, Assistant Professor, and K.L. Krishna, Associate Professor, Pharmacology Department, were also present.
